2022 Winter Competition Abandon

Jun 15, 2022 | Uncategorized

Parramatta Touch Football Committee has come to the hard decision with deep regret to abandon the 2022 Winter Men’s and Mixed competitions. This is due to the current condition of Doyle Ground due to the inclement weather experienced over the previous months, which has now left us insufficient time to complete the Winter Competition prior to our Summer season commencement dates.

City of Parramatta Council have been unable to mow Doyle Ground until this week due to the ground still being extremely wet causing mowers to bog. The ground still needs further attention before we could even think about accessing the venue for a competition, which forced us into our decision.
We worked the council to try and source another venue but were unsuccessful due to the number of grounds available and sports organisation needing access to them. We are working with the council to improve the drainage and overall playing surface at Doyle Ground.
Our Men’s and Mixed Spring/Summer competition will be tapping off on Tuesday the 23rd and Wednesday 24th of August respectively.
If you would like your team and registered players to automatically roll over to the Spring/Summer Competition, please notify us prior to the end of July. If you want to withdraw your side and receive player registration fees back, please notify by the same deadline.
We apologies for the inconvenience this has caused, and we appreciate your support to Parramatta Touch and look forward to seeing back on the park in August.
